A magnitude of 5.4 earthquake was felt in Southern California today quiet near to Palm Springs. No immediate reports of damage or injury from the quake.
According to Captain Miguel Manzano, of Borrego Springs Fire Protection District, the quake was pretty strong and lasted about 10 to 15 seconds.
He said his department was unaware of any damage caused by the quake in their community but they would be checking the area.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) initially reported the earthquake as a magnitude 5.9.
